In a digital CCTV camera system, an installer uses an IP network (the internet, intranet, LAN or WAN to transmit video images from the security camera to the viewer.  There are a range of IP cameras on the market which have network sockets on the back, however, another solution is to use the wide range of analogue security cameras and connect them directly into an IP encoder unit.
